Intervention
Miracle by the Bay offers Intervention Services for those struggling with substance abuse or other addictions and need treatment but are still unable to admit that they have a problem with drugs or alcohol. Interventions are performed by a trained intervention specialist and are successfully completed when the individual needing treatment agrees to enroll in a drug or alcohol treatment program. Loved ones and even co-workers or employers of the individual often begin the intervention process by calling us for help. If it is determined that the alcoholic or addict will likely be resistant to entering an addiction treatment program, we then have one of our highly successful interventionists make contact with the family or other support system to find out exactly what is needed.
Over the past few years interventions have become a highly utilized starting point for many people’s recovery because of their astoundingly high success rates. Professional interventionists boast success rates from 85% to 95%, meaning that this percentage of people have gone on to seek out treatment in a recovery center or program.
The first step begins with a phone call facilitated by an intake specialist or interventionist. During this phone call the specialist gets an understanding of what the individual and family will need during the actual intervention. From this point, a date and time are committed to for a pre-intervention meeting in which the interventionist meets with family and friends to devise a plan of action for the actual intervention. Usually, it is essential that the individual has no idea that an intervention is about to take place. For this reason, the interventionist also works with the loved ones to help deal with any undesirable reactions on the part of the individual. Interventions work because it places the using individual in front of all the feelings and concerns of his or her family and friends. By looking at the destruction that their behaviors have created and how they have affected family and friends, denial is more easily broken.
The intervention is moderated by the interventionist and gives time for family, friends and the individual to express feelings, concerns and remorse. When a successful intervention is completed, the interventionist accompanies the individual to a treatment center that has been decided upon with the help of family and friends. At Miracle by the Bay our interventionists, most with many years of sobriety themselves, have had the opportunity to perform hundreds of successful interventions and are ready to help you and your loved one too. Contact us today if your loved one is not quite ready to admit there is a problem. You don’t have to wait for them to hit their bottom. Most experts agree that an intervention can create that bottom for them. Don’t wait until it is too late. You don’t have to be alone; support is just a phone call away.
