Transitional Sober Living
At Miracle by the Bay we provide our clients with a vast array of treatment-related services from confidential consultation and referral, intervention, primary and extended care residential treatment all the way to transitional living, or sober living, and aftercare. A sober living residence should be a safe environment in which recovering individuals live and learn together in a house that is alcohol and drug-free. Usually individuals are required to have a set length of time away from drugs or alcohol before they are allowed to enter this coveted safe space. But all recovery homes are not alike. Our sober living residence outshines the rest because of our commitment to providing quality of service and staff, upscale amenities (such as all meals, transportation to meetings, and fitness membership), as well as relapse prevention through aftercare programs. A resident staff member is available at the house in order to provide needed support and a safe person to confide in. The community functions effectively because there are people in the house with different lengths of sobriety who are able to aid and motivate each other through their own positive experiences. Residential Inpatient Treatment is a very good start to recovery, but Extended Care and Transitional Sober Living promotes and helps establish long-term recovery.
Sober living is a viable option for individuals wishing to maintain some personal freedom but at the same time live in a structured environment in which their recovery can be supported and they can be held accountable. Our residents are encouraged to reach out to other people in recovery and are required to attend 12-step meetings, or alternative support groups, throughout the week. Our sober living environment offers guidance on building necessary skills to succeed in the real world. Learning habits and ways of coping with feelings and temptations are some of the cornerstones in a strong foundation in recovery.
Staying in a therapeutic environment or having access to this type of service has been very beneficial to individuals with a desire to stay clean and sober. Many times the relationships formed through the residential process that are further nourished in the aftercare programs are ones that offer the best support and at times can ultimately help prevent relapse. While you are living with us, we can also provide ongoing individual therapy, group therapy and other group activities, and life skills and planning sessions with a Sober or Life Coach.
Many residents will choose to work, volunteer, or attend classes while living in this type of environment, but often times get discouraged with obstacles such as poor nutritional habits, a suspended license, lack of time management skills, lack of a healthy sober social network, or lack of transportation. Another unique aspect that sets Miracle by the Bay far apart from other Sober Living homes is the ability to help in all of these aspects of recovery!
We offer confidential consultation and referral services for success in recovery, so to find out how including sober living in your treatment plan can greatly improve your chances to remain sober for life, contacts us today.
